Agora Gallery is proud to present Pari Ravan in The Persistence of Form.
About Pari Ravan:
Pari Ravan has gone beyond mere landscape painting to engender a style dubbed “Romantic Surrealism,” a unique pastiche of imagery, which includes flowers, figures, boundless skies and even written words. Her sensitivity for color is demonstrated in beautifully painted skies with varying tints of deep, midnight blues and warm, sunset pinks, reinforcing the dreamlike quality of her work. “My art should guide the spectator to his own emotions and experience,” Ravan explains. “In this aspect every picture of mine is like a painted dream.”
Born in Iran, Ravan is no stranger to the sweeping desert landscapes that prove to be fantastic backdrops for many of her paintings. Her distinctive style was influenced by trips around Iran, a love for poetry, and her experience as a professional pilot. Ravan later immigrated to Europe, where her work has been sold and displayed in venues such as the Museum of Siegburg in Germany. In 2007 her artistic achievements were recognized with the Prize L’Aigle de Nice. Presently, Ravan lives and works in France.
